Job Title: Estimator – Facilities Management

Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire (commutable distance; office-based with the team, some hybrid flexibility possible)

Position

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working alongside the group bid team the Estimator will own the pricing and cost-modelling function for TFM tenders. This is a business critical and high-impact role within a stable but agile business.

The Estimator will be responsible for building accurate, competitive estimates from the ground up using real-time operational data, leveraging supplier relationships, using market intelligence and taking a holistic view of client requirements.

The role will shape group-wide estimating capability - especially for bids that require several services from across the group portfolio. The successful candidate will be required to strike the balance between work winning and achieving solid, profitable growth.


Objectives for the Position

In 3 Months:

* Hit the ground running by prioritising the current bid workflow and delivering pricing support on live opportunities.
* Build a solid relationship with the group bid team and the FM leadership team
* Collect and organise pricing data from previous bids and current contracts to create a structured pricing data template.
* Conduct mini market tests with suppliers to validate rates and build a reliable baseline data set.
* Establish strong face-to-face relationships with the operational team to ensure estimates reflect real-world delivery costs.


In 12 Months:

* Build a track record of bid wins through accurate, competitive and operationally achievable pricing.
* Be recognised as an essential member of both the FM management team and the group bid team.
* Influence Estimating capability across the group (standard processes, templates and software implementation).
* Develop a strong pipeline of leads through proactive client engagement, professional networking and targeted market positioning.


In 3 years:

* Have built a professional, robust and high performing Estimating team that delivers profitable growth.
* Be recognised as a future leader of the business by demonstrating holistic, customer centric behaviours that support the business to achieve profitable, sustainable growth.


The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate:

Hands-on TFM estimating experience (3+ years) gained in a small-to-medium FM business that has delivered solid growth under your tenure.

Proven track record in pricing live tenders and a desire to step up from a pricing-focused role into a role where Estimating takes ownership of bid success through a holistic lens.

Solid communicator who proactively picks up the phone, meets people face-to-face and builds trusted relationships with the operations team, suppliers and clients.

Holistic mindset; someone who wants to feel part of the business and will contribute beyond the numbers.

Practical, data-driven approach; able to create a professional and high performing Estimating team that delivers results in a structured way.
