Sky News is seeking an ambitious digital political reporter to be a key member of our Westminster team. The successful candidate will cover the big political events of the day and generate original and exclusive stories.
What you'll do:
* Break original political news stories on for Sky News.
* Cover daily politics live as part of Sky News' Politics Hub live blog.
* Pitch ideas for digital content including videos and interactive features.
* Uphold Sky News' standards of accuracy.
* Work both independently and as part of a team.
* Cultivate political contacts in order to break stories.
What you'll bring:
* A keen eye for political stories and an understanding of the political landscape
* A track record of finding, writing and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations.
* Experience in creating engaging digital video content.
* First class news-writing ability (including flawless written English).
* The ability to spot a top line, know-how to refresh a story and keep it moving.
* Great communication skills both verbal and written and demonstrable ability to work under pressure.
* A contact book including politicians, civil servants and relevant stakeholders.
* Flexibility for changing work patterns and commitment to accuracy, regardless of platform.
