Assistant Project Manager – 15-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for:
A highly organised and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our GMP Chemistry team in Rushden on a 15-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The Assistant Project Manager will shadow and assist Project Management colleagues in the running of individual radiochemistry projects liaising both externally with clients and internally with other departmental functions and help with the successful delivery of APIs for clinical programmes. The Assistant Project Manager will be expected to develop to a level where projects can be managed with minimal assistance from the Senior Project Manager.

Key roles and responsibilities:
4. Act as a liaison between clients, clinics, and internal departments including QA, QC, Production, and Metabolism.
5. Maintain and update project Gantt charts and trackers to support planning and resource allocation.
6. Participate in client meetings and teleconferences, providing updates and capturing key actions.
7. Support project coordination across departments, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
8. Assist with documentation, including stability protocols, product specifications, and CTA sections.
9. Track project progress, manage out-of-scope changes, and support issue resolution.
10. Provide cover for Project Management colleagues when needed and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Education:
11. Degree in a scientific subject (preferably Chemistry) or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience & Skills:
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Proven ability to analyse processes and solve problems.
14. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
15. Team player with a collaborative mindset and a proactive approach.
Desirable:
16. Experience using Microsoft Project.
17. Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
