Your a Lead Dev but your having to always clean up other peoples mess.
Or perhaps still just carrying out the CTOs decisions.
Here, you’ll make them.
£75,000 + 15% pension + bonus | Hybrid (2 days/week in West Yorkshire)
You’ll be the first internal Lead Developer in a company that’s finally cutting the cord on external agencies. This is your shot to take ownership of a major rebuild and shape the future of their dev function. No more patching legacy code or fighting upstream against poor architecture choices.
This business wants a build-not-buy future. You’ll be front and centre of that shift, with the autonomy to set direction and the backing to build it right.
What you’ll do:
* Architect and build core systems from the ground up
* Lead and mentor a small dev team (more hires planned)
* Own the full development lifecycle and tech stack decisions
* Work closely with the business—your input will shape the roadmap
* Help cut ties with external agencies and run things properly in-house
Tech you’ll use:
* Laravel backend, Vue frontend (Angular being phased out)
* Azure DevOps, Jira, REST APIs
* Some ASP.NET/C# exposure helpful but not essential
* Python and LLM projects ahead (AI is on the roadmap)
What’s next:
* Start by clearing the decks: squash bugs, learn the system
* Then dive into high-impact projects: ERP integrations, quoting tools, automation builds
You must:
* Be UK-based (no sponsorship)
* Commit to 2 days/week in the Dewsbury office
* Already be operating at Lead Dev level, ideally with architecture experience
If you’re ready to stop inheriting problems and start building solutions your way, this is the role that puts you in control.
