Shape the future of A Level provision in a growing, ambitious college. We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Teaching and Learning Manager for A Levels and Access to HE to join our team at an exciting point in development.
Role Fit
* Existing middle leader with experience of leading A Levels in a GFE college, sixth form college or school sixth form, or
* Exceptional A Level practitioner with a strong track record of impact who is ready to take the next step into a curriculum leadership role.
About the role
You will play a central role in leading and developing our A Level and Access to HE provision, working closely with the Head of Learning to ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, strong student progress, and a curriculum offer that meets the needs of our students and local community.
Our provision currently includes 25+ A Level subjects and Level 3 Access to HE courses, with plans to expand and diversify the offer over the coming years, including the development of V Levels. This role offers the opportunity to shape both day-to-day delivery and future curriculum developments.
Key responsibilities
* Leading the day-to-day operations of A Levels and Access to HE
* Delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment
* Driving strong student progress and value added, including ALPs performance
* Supporting, coaching and developing teaching staff to improve practice
* Leading quality assurance activities, including course review, evaluation and data analysis
* Contributing to curriculum planning, timetabling and curriculum intent
* Supporting new curriculum developments, including V Levels
* Playing an active role in student recruitment, open events and school liaison
* Promoting equality, diversity, inclusion and sustainability across the curriculum
About you
* Experience teaching A Levels within a sixth form or further education setting
* Proven track record of high-quality teaching and assessment
* Experience of leading, managing or coordinating others, or has demonstrated the potential to do so
* Committed to innovative, inclusive and student-centred teaching and learning
* Confident using data, quality assurance processes and digital technologies to improve outcomes
* Passionate about supporting both staff and students to succeed
Experience of working in a sixth form college, school sixth form, or GFE college with sixth form provision is highly desirable.
