Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in a residential home setting. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care, medication administration, and the ability to manage behaviours effectively while ensuring the dignity and comfort of our clients.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences.
* Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during heavy lifting tasks.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
* Participate in case management meetings to discuss client progress and adjustments to care plans.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in caregiving roles within residential care settings is essential.
* Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
* Certification in first aid is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping others.
* Ability to follow instructions accurately while being adaptable to changing needs.
* A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients as necessary.
