Job title: Administrator – Whole School Support
Reports to: Office Manager
Contract: Permanent, full time, term time only (see below)
Hours: 5 days per week, 37 hours per week
39 weeks per year (i.e. term time only + 5 INSET days), plus additional 2 weeks to be worked during the last 2 weeks of the summer holiday from GCSE Results Day until the start of term, and paid on claim
Salary: Kent Scale D (£26,393 per annum, £23,005.93 per annum for working Term Time Only)
We are looking for a highly experienced Administrator to provide whole school support to the office team and wider school. You will be joining our well-respected and lively Support Team of ten.
Purpose of the role
1. To provide effective and professional administrative support in the busy School Office to an exceptionally high standard, while contributing positively to the smooth and effective running of the school on a day-to-day basis.
2. To contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the area child protection procedures.
Overall responsibility
3. Work within the School Office Team, playing a crucial role in the day-to-day life of the school by providing a wide range of administrative support to staff, students and parents to ensure the school continues to run efficiently and effectively.
4. Assist the School Office Manager.
5. Deal with enquiries and school–home communications on a daily basis.
6. Take responsibility for all administration to do with changes to student records; undertake bulk student admissions/leavers and ad hoc responsibilities as outlined below.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of administration, ideally within a school setting but this is not mandatory. You will need to be highly organised, hardworking and be able to prioritise your work, together with a willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of the service and the confidence to deal with competing demands. Good administrative skills, a good knowledge of computer systems – a good sense of humour will also help! Training and formal supervision will be provided.
