Summary

The Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Professor for the Fall 2025 semester specializing in Introduction to Chemistry for Nursing and lab (CH 105). This is a foundational course for (primarily) first year undergraduate students with majors in: nursing, dental hygiene, neuroscience, and exercise science. Classes begin September 2, 2025; this course section and the accompanying lab are taught in person on the Weston, MA campus; lecture: Tuesdays 5:30-8:00 pm, lab: Tuesdays, 3:30-5:30 pm. The person hired is expected to teach both lecture and lab.

Essential Functions

* Teach CH 105-03 (lecture) and CH 105XA-03 (lab) as a synchronous, in person course and engage with all responsibilities associated with teaching the section and lab: grading, office hours, student engagement, lab preparation and set-up as needed, curriculum alignment with other course sections, academic assessment.

Requirements

* Minimum requirement: An earned MS in Chemistry; PhDs welcome.
* Demonstrated evidence of at least three years prior teaching experience (lectures and labs) at the undergraduate level.
* Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom learning environment in keeping with the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other STEM faculty to ensure consistency across class sections as needed.
* Demonstrated familiarity with academic assessment.
* Familiarity with the learning management system Moodle is preferred, but not required.
* Ability to uphold the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

* Normal classroom environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
* General Laboratory environment
