Position Overview
We are seeking to recruit a Health Care Support Worker to work within the District Nursing Service. Based within the Cheviot locality although there may be times you will be expected to travel to support other areas within the locality.
They will work within a dynamic and motivated team delivering a variety of care needs alongside the wider health and social care team to patients in their own home.
The current developments within Primary Care mean this is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a community setting.
Responsibilities
* Support the District Nursing Team in managing the daily caseload.
* Work with Registered Nurses during your shift and join the daily report to discuss the patients you have seen.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience of working in the Community is desirable but not essential.
* Enthusiastic, caring, with excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to different environments.
* Full driving licence.
Location & Travel
This post will be based in the Cheviot Teams in Jedburgh and Kelso. The post holder may be required to travel across neighbouring localities to meet service needs at times. A driving licence is essential.
Work Hours & Salary
Cheviot locality – 18.5 hours per week, permanent. The salary quoted is for full‑time hours (36 hrs per week). For appointments to part‑time hours, the salary will be pro‑rata. As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
