Job Title: Sales/ Till Assistant
Full Time - Monday - Friday Availability to work occasional weekends
Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team for team. The successful candidate will provide excellent service to customers, keep the store well-presented, and support the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
* Welcome customers and provide helpful, attentive service.
* Assist customers in locating products and offering product recommendations.
* Operate tills & process payments
* Promote special offers, loyalty schemes, and upsell where appropriate
Store Presentation
* Ensure shelves are fully stocked, clean, and well-organised.
* Maintain tidy displays and clear, accurate price labels.
* Support merchandising changes for promotions and seasonal events.
Stock & Inventory
* Assist with receiving and checking deliveries.
* Replenish stock and rotate to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
* Report low stock or discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Safety & Compliance
* Follow health, safety, and store security procedures at all times.
* Be alert to potential theft or suspicious behaviour and act accordingly.
Teamwork
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Assist other departments during peak periods if needed.
Requirements
* Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
* Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work flexibly between Monday and Saturday.
* Basic numeracy and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £7.55-£12.21 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
* Maghera BT46 5AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
* Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
