Welding Inspector with CSWIP 3.1 certification or PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector required to join an expanding engineering and fabrication business specialising in bespoke structural and M&E projects. Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with industry and project standards.
* Prepare and control welding and manufacturing documentation, specifications, and quality records.
* Oversee welder testing, qualifications, and implementation of inspection and test plans.
* Monitor interpass temperatures, heat input checks, and dimensional accuracy.
* Identify and record non‑conformities, managing rectification and retesting where required.
* Coordinate non‑destructive testing (NDT) internally and externally.
* Audit welding processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Champion lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications & Skills Required
* CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 / PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector.
* PCN Level 2 Visual Testing.
* NACE Coatings Inspection certification (bonus).
* Understanding of welding techniques, materials, coatings and industry standards.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency with inspection tools and equipment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to safety and quality excellence.
* IT proficiency (Microsoft Word & Excel).
Desirable Additional Qualifications
* NDT certifications (MPI / UT – Magnetic Particle Inspection or Ultrasonic Testing).
* Experience with Hot Dye Galvanising, High Coat NACE Level 2, or ICORR.
* Background in Welding Engineering, Supervision or Leadership roles.
