Job Description

Under general supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer is to lead product verification and validation activities for new product development and continuous improvement engineering.

Test Engineers may travel to develop business relationships with customers, dealers, and suppliers. They will also collaborate with design engineers and participate in product focus groups to gather customer application and design feedback, aiding in product development.

About The Role

* Lead a cross-functional testing program within New Product Development (NPD) Engineering to verify and validate new and updated designs.
* Determine testing requirements for machines, components, and systems in collaboration with product teams.
* Support Quality Improvement teams in defining test requirements for field quality issues.
* Work with Continuous Improvement engineering on testing for cost reduction and design improvements.
* Create and maintain test plans and schedules.
* Measure, collect, and analyze data from validation activities using Dewesoft DAQ and Dewesoft X software.
* Produce reports from test data and provide recommendations based on analysis.
* Participate in establishing standards, processes, and guidelines for validation.
* Manage test equipment, including inventory, organization, and calibration.
* Contribute to design reviews by providing validation and verification insights.
* Lead and coordinate project efforts across multi-functional teams, providing detailed instructions and interacting with various departments.
* Handle internal control responsibilities as communicated, with periodic feedback on performance.

Job-related Skills and Abilities

* Maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management.
* Utilize interpersonal skills to be an effective team member from concept to production.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, 3-D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Data Acquisition Systems (Dewesoft preferred), and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
* Good organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to prioritize daily tasks, adapt to changes, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Willingness to accept responsibility and take on new challenges.
* Exercise discretion and independent judgment regularly.
* Ensure timely completion of tasks as per management requirements.
* Follow internal standards for data creation and input.
* Adhere to all company policies, especially regarding safety.
* Document tasks as required.

Desired Criteria

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Mechatronics, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Experience in New Product Development and validation.
* Knowledge of test equipment, systems, and sensors.
* Experience with structural, hydraulic, electrical, and controls systems.
* Experience with gauges and sensors including strain, pressure, temperature, flow, sound, vibration, and analog.
* Ability to communicate effectively with product teams.
* Knowledge of vibration data collection and analysis.
* Experience in presenting validation results to product groups.
* Root cause analysis skills for systems, components, and machines.
