Description
JOB SUMMARY
Silvaco is seeking a software engineer to join our device simulation team in Europe. The Quantum Device Software Developer will be central to the TCAD group, helping develop high-quality products and services.
As part of the TCAD group, you will design, implement, evaluate, and improve quantum mechanical models for semiconductor device simulation. The ideal candidate will be an experienced software engineer with expertise in quantum simulation of semiconductor devices. Responsibilities include:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, support, test, and maintain simulation software tools.
* Identify limitations of existing software components and improve methodologies.
* Develop and implement physical models for quantum optoelectronic and transport device simulation.
* Plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment.
* Communicate complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Work independently to solve problems.
* Provide accurate documentation.
* Demonstrate good communication, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills
* 4-7 years in quantum mechanical device simulation.
* Deep knowledge of semiconductor physics and quantum mechanics, including bulk/envelope function theory, Schrödinger equation, NEGF methodology, light-matter interaction, and superlattices.
* Proficiency in C++ and software design.
* Experience working collaboratively on software projects.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Creative problem-solving abilities.
* Experience in semiconductor device simulation.
Physical Requirements
* Prolonged sitting and typing.
* Good vision for working with small objects or reading small print, including computer use.
* Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
