Singh & Jones are working with a well-established systems house client, who has a global appeal and is synonymous in the world of modular build. With tenders growing substantially and technical demands soaring, our client aims to strengthen their commercial team by recruiting an experienced Structural Engineer, with a core focus on SFS/Light Gauge Steel Framing.
The position will report directly to the Technical Director, and the duties will include:
* Analyze configurations of the basic components of light gauge steel structures
* Calculate pressures, stresses, and strains on components such as beams and frames
* Advise on structural designs and variations using expertise
* Liaise with architects and main contractors
* Create drawings, specifications, and computer models using AutoCAD and Tekla
* Work with construction contractors to ensure structural integrity of erected buildings
* Apply knowledge of forces acting on various structures
* Lead and mentor junior staff
The ideal candidate will have a background in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience. A strong academic background with a BSc/MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering is essential, along with being chartered or progressing towards chartership with ICE or IStructE. Experience in Light Gauge Steel Framing and SFS is highly advantageous. Since the position holds seniority, mentoring and team-building skills are important.
