EP Group - Engineer
EP Group is an award winning, global packaging manufacturer with production facilities across Europe and Southeast Asia.
Our global headquarters in Birmingham is home to our dedicated paper manufacturing division providing a wide range of food packaging products for the likes of McDonalds, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Greggs.
We are now seeking an Engineer to be based on site here in Birmingham. The role will provide maintenance and recovery of 33M narrow aisle cranes and their associated conveyor systems. The engineer will be expert at managing their own workloads, reacting to machine down time and implementing PPM systems.
Key Responsibilities - Engineer
* Maintenance, servicing and overhauling of Highbay cranes including mechanical breakdowns such as drive replacements, bearings, gearing, roller systems
* Manage electrical repairs and installations including new installations and existing equipment upgrades to ensure equipment is up to industry standards.
* Work closely with the warehouse supervisors and management team to supply the agreed level of service to existing clients.
* Attend breakdowns within agreed SLAs to ensure timely resolution and avoid any delays to the customer.
* Changing and programming inverters and other control systems.
* Keeping PPM’s complete to a high standard and up to date.
Key Requirements - Engineer
* A Minimum of 5 years’ previous experience working in ASRS and FMCG environment both in electrical and mechanical work preferably with an indentured apprenticeship history.
* City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 NVQ Diploma or Extended Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent qualification
* PLC experience highly desirable e.g. Siemens
* Mechanically biased but with some electrical knowledge
* Excellent technical knowledge
* The ability to prioritise and plan effectively
* A good level of computer literacy
* Good commercial awareness
* The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
* Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas
* Very good time-management skills and a high work ethic
* Be able to work at Height in the Highbay ASRS Crane Systems
* Understanding of Warehouse management system
* Excellent communication and team working skills
