Finance Director
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Location: Easton house Easton on the Hill, Stamford, Lincolnshire, PE9 3NZ, (hybrid)
Salary: Commensurate with skills & experience
Hours: 35 hours per week
The Role
Provide strong functional and financial leadership to the Finance team across all offices and regions in which we operate, ensuring appropriate fiscal management.
Be responsible for all aspects of financial controls and ensure the company remains compliant with all regulatory requirements including Statutory, Payroll, Tax and VAT in all regions.
Be a sounding board, challenger, and supporter for CIPS CEO, colleagues on the Executive and Leadership Team as well as the Global Board of Trustees and Audit Committee.
As a Strategic Leader proactively identify opportunities to improve business performance and ensure that the CIPS Group has a clear understanding of business performance. Provide accurate and timely monthly reporting, forecasting, and planning to support decision making at operational and strategic levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and execution of the Company Strategy.
* Lead the annual business planning and budgeting process, ensuring appropriate financial prioritisation across all departments in the operational budget, corporate project spend and capital purchases.
* Provide financial analysis, reporting and guidance on strategy, plans, and Global performance at business and departmental levels.
* Undertake quarterly financial re-forecasts and participate in on-going reviews of performance of CIPS functions and business units.
* Ensure that company financial systems and processes are robust and compliant with strong internal controls in place and are fit to support both current activities and future developments.
* Responsible for effective tax planning, financial risk management, and management of currency exposures.
* Responsible and accountable for the timely management of the CIPS annual audit and financial accounts through to appropriate Governance sign-off and regulatory compliance.
* Responsible and accountable for the management of the CIPS Group financial reserves to ensure we remain within Governance guidelines and maximise return on investments.
* Take ownership of CIPS financial policies, ensuring these are regularly reviewed and fit for purpose.
* Strong advisory/oversight role in all CIPS Corporate projects to ensure appropriate management of spend and forward financial commitments.
* Direct and develop the finance team as a high performing, value added support function, ensuring staff are appropriately motivated, trained and are working towards the achievement of CIPS's Finance objectives and the overall business plan.
* Be a champion of change to further develop the effectiveness of the finance processes and team.
Skills and Qualifications
* First Degree or equivalent
* Professional financial qualification - ACA, ICAEW or CIMA
* Experience of managing a strategic financial team
* Demonstrably high level of experience in international financial management and budget setting
* Experience of working with and reporting at Board level
* Strong verbal and written communicator with the ability to formally present at a senior level
