Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator – Lostock Energy from Waste Plant, Cheshire Location: Northwich, Cheshire Start Date: As soon as possible Rate: £23–£32 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, Day shift - working 10 hours per day Duration - Approximately 12 months Contract Type: PAYE/CIS (Inside IR35) Role Summary: We are currently recruiting a Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator for the Lostock Energy from Waste (EfW) Plant in Cheshire. This is a critical role supporting safe systems of work during plant operations, maintenance, and commissioning. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate the implementation of lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the safety of all personnel and contractors working on or near live plant systems on the EfW Plant. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and enforce the Lockout Tagout (LOTO) process across site. Maintain accurate isolation documentation and LOTO registers. Liaise with permit holders, site supervisors, and contractors to coordinate isolations. Review method statements and risk assessments to ensure safe isolations. Support the commissioning and maintenance teams with isolation planning and execution. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Conduct toolbox talks and LOTO awareness training if required. Work closely with site HSE, operations, and engineering teams.Requirements: Proven experience in a LOTO role, ideally on EfW, power, or heavy industrial sites. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical isolations. Familiar with COMAH, PTW, and isolation procedures in high-risk environments. IOSH or NEBOSH certification preferred. ECITB, EUSR, CSCS or equivalent safety passport required. Excellent communication and coordination skills.Desirable: Experience during plant commissioning or outages. Background as an AP (Authorised Person) or Permit Coordinator. Familiarity with DCS, LV/HV isolation, or rotating equipment.
