Location: Chatham, Kent
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience + performance related bonus
Working hours: Full and part time considered with alternate weekends
Experience level: Newly qualified or experienced Dispensing Opticians registered with the GOC
Specsavers in Chatham are looking for a driven Dispensing Optician to join them on a full or part‑time basis. The focus at this store is on pulling together and working as a team to ensure that our valued patients have an excellent experience.
You will be joining a well‑established store with a fully trained team that includes Optical Assistants, Dispensing Opticians, Contact Lens Opticians and an audiology team. With nine test rooms, daily Enhanced Optical Services, daily Contact Lens clinics and four audiology clinics per week, you can focus on what you do best. Dispensing Opticians are the face of the clinic and usually an integral part of the store management team, so Chatham are keen to give you exposure to management responsibilities with ILM courses, pre‑reg supervision and the opportunity to own your own Specsavers business.
Chatham has three sister stores – Gillingham, Hempstead Valley and Strood, all owned by the same group of four directors who have a wealth of experience and can offer incredible professional and clinical support and development. Collectively they have developed five members of the team who are now directors of their own stores. Could you be the next?

What We’re Looking For
Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Dispensing Optician, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands‑on approach, and who is keen to build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled Dispensing Optician to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward. We value our staff first and their development is key to us.
