Overview
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a CCAB qualified accountant to join this local government finance team. Working on a hybrid basis, with travel to the office as required, your role as Senior Finance Business Partner will be to lead an efficient, effective and client-oriented Finance Business Partnering offering to a range of council services, supporting them to achieve their goals in an ever-changing and challenging environment. As well as acting as a key member of the Finance Management Team, you will contribute to the delivery of service and corporate objectives and the overall success of the Council.
Responsibilities
* Championing excellent management of financial resources, promoting probity, efficiency, high performance and overall value for money.
* Creating a culture which empowers budget holders and staff and supports the delivery of value for money services, including reporting on benchmark information and key cost drivers.
* Lead on the production of high-quality, relevant and timely financial monitoring information for the benefit of the services, senior officers and members.
* Provide professional insight, using your position as both a Finance and service expert to identify early and act upon emerging issues, risks and opportunities.
* Lead on the production of the annual revenue and capital budgets, and Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), in accordance with statutory requirements and council policies.
* Undertake strategic analysis and planning to ensure that these reflect the council's priorities and strategic objectives.
* The role will be part of the senior finance management team; to be considered you will need to be a CCAB qualified accountant with previous Local Government finance experience.
Salary and working pattern
The salary band for the role is £52,413 to £63,079 and the working pattern is hybrid remote with attendance in the office as required.
