We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sessional GCSE Maths Lecturer to work with our Football Students. This unique role involves delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students who are pursuing their passion for football alongside their academic studies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver GCSE Maths Lessons that inspire and motivate students.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of football students.
* Collaborate with the sports department to integrate Maths learning with football training schedules.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Hours - Approx 4 hours per week
* Teaching - Friday 3pm - 4pm and Thursday 12:30pm - 2:30pm
* Admin - 1 hour
Salary - £25.00 Per Hour

JOB PURPOSE - To support the delivery of GCSE Maths
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plan, prepare and teach Maths lessons, including day to day management of own delivery. Facilitate good working relationships with the wider team, working alongside them to plan and deliver improvements in the quality of teaching and learning, and to ensure effective collaboration.
* Assess and monitor student progress: including inductions and diagnostic assessments, ILPs, learner records.
* To maintain up to date course files, resources and data, support internal and external verification purposes.
* To maintain learner details, personal targets, including attendance, tracking of progress, and achievement.
* To maintain course targets electronically, including enrichment, added value, progression and to record achievement electronically.
* Attend team meetings and internal and external verification meetings as required.
* Liaison with parents, carers, employers, sponsors, managing agents and other agencies, (including work-based training contractors), as required.
* To represent Varsity Nine where appropriate with external organisations.
* To observe and implement Varsity Nine policies and procedures, e.g. Health and Safety, Fire Regulations, etc.
* To carry out any other duties that are reasonable and within the level of responsibility for the post as determined by the Head of Department
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications & Training Attainments
What standards of general, technical or professional education does the position call for? What specialised training is required
ESSENTIAL-Level 4/equivalent qualification in Maths PTTLS, City and Guilds 7407, or working towards a suitable qualification enabling the delivery of the subject content.
DESIRABLE - Degree or equivalent. Qualification in Maths. Assessor Award. Certificate in Education, DTLLS or equivalent or PGCE.
Experience
What type of work experience is required, what level of experience, how many years?
ESSENTIAL - Experience of teaching GCSE Maths Subjects. Experience of teaching 16–18 and 19+ learners. Experience of interviewing learners, evaluating and identifying learner's ability & monitoring individual learner progress.
DESIRABLE - Knowledge of embedding. Functional Skills / Basic Skills /Key Skills into vocational and non-vocational courses. Curriculum development.
