Yolk Recruitment are thrilled to be partnering with Valleys to Coast (V2C) to appoint a highly organised and confident Governance Officer to join its growing Governance team and support the delivery of excellent corporate governance across the Group, for a 12 months fixed-term contract. This is a key role supporting the Board, Committees, and subsidiary entities, ensuring V2C continues to meet the highest standards of compliance, regulation, and best practice within the Welsh housing sector. The Role: Reporting to the Governance and Secretariat Manager, the Governance Officer will provide essential support to ensure effective decision-making across the organisation. Responsibilities will include: Coordinating Board and Committee meetings (agendas, papers, scheduling, minutes) Supporting compliance with the Code of Governance for Housing Associations in Wales Maintaining governance documentation, delegated authority schedules, and forward planning Supporting the Annual General Meeting and drafting contributions to the Annual Report Assisting with Board recruitment, induction, development plans and training coordination Supporting corporate assurance reporting, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks Maintaining Board performance management records and assisting with self-evaluation processes Essential requirements include: 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and Maths (or equivalent) Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite) Substantial experience in governance administration or a similar regulated environment Excellent understanding of corporate governance and compliance Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure High standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity Desirable: Governance or legal qualification / degree-level education Knowledge of company law and its governance implications Experience in the housing sector Welsh language skills Benefits: Hybrid and flexible working: 9 day fortnight and early finish on a Friday Annual leave: 25 days increasing by 1 day for every completed year up to a maximum of 5 days plus bank holidays Competitive Pension: SHPs - Valleys to Coast contribute 3% more than you each month (minimum contribution where you pay 4%, V2C pay 7%; maximum contribution where you pay 6%, V2C pay 9%) Recognition events and thousands of retail discounts Health care cash plan to help you pay for essential health bills, as well as providing you with 24-hour access to GP advice, counselling and more.
