The Role
As Deputy Head Teacher, you will work closely with the Head Teacher to lead, manage, and develop the strategic direction of the school. You will play a key role in continuing to raise standards, enhance teaching and learning, and support staff development.
Depending on your strengths and experience, you may take lead responsibility for areas such as curriculum design, pupil progress, staff performance, behaviour and attendance, or safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Teacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school

Lead on school improvement priorities and contribute to the school development plan
*
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the school
*
Line manage and mentor teaching and support staff to support their professional growth
*
Use data effectively to drive pupil progress and close attainment gaps
*
Ensure high standards of behaviour, attendance, and pupil wellbeing
*
Lead assemblies, parent engagement, and community partnerships
*
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or support the DSL, depending on structure)
*
Deputise for the Head Teacher when required
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has substantial primary teaching experience
*
Has a strong track record of leadership and school improvement
*
Is a confident, inspirational leader who can motivate and support others
*
Has in-depth knowledge of curriculum design, assessment, and inclusion
*
Is highly organised, reflective, and solution-focused
*
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*
Is passionate about making a difference to children’s lives
