A Day in the Life of a Commis Chef
What you'll be doing:
* Assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
* Work alongside senior chefs, gaining hands-on experience and refining cooking techniques.
* Maintain a clean, organized workstation, adhering to hygiene standards.
* Help manage kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients and monitoring stock levels.
* Perform basic cooking tasks such as making sauces, grilling, frying, and assisting with plating.
* Participate in cleaning duties to keep equipment and surfaces spotless.
* Learn and adapt quickly to kitchen procedures, contributing to a well-organized team.
What We Need From You
* Genuine interest in cooking and eagerness to learn in a professional kitchen.
* Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not essential; willingness to work hard and learn is key.
* Basic food prep knowledge and a desire to improve your skills.
* Attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.
* Team-oriented attitude, able to take direction and support colleagues.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during busy periods.
