Service Desk Technician

Service AdministratorLocation: StowmarketJob Type: Full-time, Office BasedSalary: £26,000–£28,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Are you technically minded with an engineering background? Do you enjoy problem-solving and building strong client relationships? Our client, a leading supplier of food processing and packaging machinery across the UK and Ireland, is seeking a Service Administrator to join their team and play a key role in delivering exceptional after-sales support.

With over 28 years of industry experience and partnerships with 11 European equipment manufacturers, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and growing business.

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain regular contact with existing customers to schedule service reviews and ensure ongoing satisfaction with equipment performance.
* Coordinate the supply of replacement parts and provide technical advice to clients.
* Prepare quotations and manage the ordering, delivery, and invoicing of parts and services.
* Support preventative maintenance planning and quote for chargeable service work.
* Handle a variety of service administration tasks with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
* Engage directly with customers to promote chargeable services and spare parts, with potential to grow into equipment and project sales.
What We’re Looking For:
* A strong technical mindset with a background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
* Proven experience in a similar role, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
* Confidence in a customer-facing role, with a proactive and professional approach.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with CAD/SolidWorks.
* Knowledge of German or Dutch is a plus.
