Nurture Teacher
Salary: £34,390 – £48,910 per year (M1–UPS1 Fringe)
Plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Chaldon, Surrey
Hours: 40 hours per week
(Start 8:15am | Finish: Mon/Wed/Thu 4:45pm, Tue 5pm, Fri 4pm)
We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join a specialist secondary setting supporting students aged 11–16 with social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing needs, commonly associated with autism. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing school in its early stages and make a real impact.
You will work within small classes with high levels of support, delivering engaging, personalised learning aligned to the national curriculum. There may also be occasional work at a nearby satellite site when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching for pupils with SEND, particularly autism
* Contribute to curriculum development and personalised learning plans
* Set, review and monitor individual targets to support progress
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
* Assess, track and report on pupil progress
* Manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies
* Support reviews including EHCPs, PEPs and LAC meetings
Requirements:
Essential
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly ASC and SEMH
* Strong understanding of the national curriculum
* Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse and complex needs
Desirable
* Additional SEND qualifications
* Experience in curriculum development for learners with autism
* Understanding of co-occurring conditions and their impact on learning
