PLC Control Systems Engineer Location: Glascoed, Pontypool, BAE Systems Working Arrangements: 3 days a week onsite Contract: 6-12 Months (37 hours per week) Hourly Rate: £27.44 PAYE or £36.85 Umbrella Role Overview: Define and implement control system requirements for new machinery. Develop and validate processes that are robust, safe, and cost-effective. Specify, qualify, and commission new equipment in line with regulatory and safety standards. Modify PLC/HMI/SCADA programs and other programmable devices. Conduct and document Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) activities. Provide expert input into tendering, commissioning, and qualification processes. Essential Requirements: Proven experience with PLC systems (ideally TIA and Simatic Manager). Strong knowledge of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and related methodologies. A minimum HNC/HND in Electrical / Electronic / Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
