About the Role
:
A typical day will include support with personal care, ensuring that appropriate clothes are selected for the day ahead, oral care and medication. They will also need support with the selection and preparation of healthy meals.
This will be a 24hr package; it is to cover a household of 2 brothers based in Falkirk. They each have support on a 121 basis throughout the day and 1 Support Worker sleeps over at night. Shifts will consist of day shifts and sleep ins.
You will be required to support them to professional appointments such as GP, Dentist, and any other appointment they may need support with.
Our service users Like to get out in the community and being involved in tasks.
Our Support Workers experience variety and a huge sense of reward and achievement in their daily activities where no two days are the same and we place huge emphasis on the fact that our customers are individuals, at Mears Supported Living we feel everyone deserves to be treated as such.
About them:
Both of the brothers have Learning Disabilities and Down Syndrome. One also has OCD and the other has Dementia.
They have recently lost their mother and look for reassurance and comfort from their support workers. Support workers must be patient and understanding and be aware of their professional boundaries.
