Job Description
Reporting to the Camp Manager, Swim Teachers will plan and deliver safe, fun, and active sessions for children aged 5-17 during school holidays. Sessions focus on water confidence and basic stroke development, with an emphasis on active games rather than structured swimming lessons.
Safety is our priority. Teachers work closely with Lifeguards to prepare areas, manage risks, monitor water conditions, and handle incidents, following Kings Camps' policies and procedures.
Sessions typically last 30-45 minutes, with a maximum of 16 children per group, scheduled between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Child safety is paramount. Teachers supervise children, oversee equipment, record incidents, and uphold safety standards and behavior policies.
We operate in various UK venues, including partnerships with military and community organizations. If interested in residential roles, please note this in your application.
Person Specification
* SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher certification
* At least 12 months' experience as a swim teacher
* Experience working with children aged 5-17 for a minimum of 6 months
* Current Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ or NRASTC) is desirable but not essential
* Collaborative attitude and ability to build positive relationships
* Knowledge of risk assessments
* Ability to design and deliver engaging, safe sessions from poolside
