Role Summary
The post holder is responsible for delivering care, assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individual care programs. They are expected to take delegated responsibility during their shift for a group of patients.
With experience, they may be expected to take charge of the ward/department/service area in the absence of their Line Manager.

An opportunity has arisen to join our busy DSU Nursing team. The successful candidate should be motivated and committed to delivering high standards of care. Flexibility is essential to cover the service. The role involves working 4 days a week, including opportunities in areas such as Day Surgery, The Vanguard Unit, and caring for paediatric patients. During escalation periods, Day Surgery staff also care for inpatients. Please include in your supporting statement why you want to work in Day Surgery and what skills you bring to the team. This is a fixed-term post for 9 months.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours, 3-4 days a week, Monday to Friday, hours from 0700 to 2100.

This is a fixed-term contract for 9 months. NHS employees may consider this as a secondment opportunity.
Pay: The salary reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, including a 3.6% pay award to be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation, the pay will be backdated to your start date. Until then, pay is based on 2024/5 bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers).
