Due to internal promotion there are two permanent full‑time roles in our Senior Occupational Therapy Rotations. We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic candidates to join our teams to complete varied rotational opportunities in Band 6 roles.
We currently offer a wide range of rotations across paediatrics, A&E, frailty at the front door, acute assessment areas, medical inpatient wards, elective and emergency surgical inpatient wards, orthopaedics (Trauma & Elective), Neurology (Acute, Specialist Rehab Centre and Early Supported Discharge Team), elderly medicine inpatients and general rehabilitation.
These rotational positions aim to provide opportunities to develop your skills across a range of clinical settings. We offer 6 monthly rotations through the teams with opportunities to extend skills in the clinical specialities and develop leadership skills.
There are opportunities to engage in training and development, innovative practice and service development. We are also looking to work with partnership organisations to offer opportunities to work in community settings.
You will have professional support for your CPD from the Therapy Team and Clinical Leaders and support from Senior Occupational Therapists from other specialities as required.
Main Duties
 * Assess and treat own caseload of patients/clients in a speciality and maintain associated records.
 * Take responsibility for Training & Development of occupational therapy staff, students, apprentices and other staff groups in this speciality. Supervise less experienced occupational therapists, apprentices, assistants and students.
 * Participate as a member of the therapy team and the MDT within a specified clinical area.
 * Have responsibility for own CPD and other developmental activities.
 * Involve in identifying and carrying out departmental audit, research or service development activity.
 * Participate in providing 7‑day services and extended working day as required by the service (some services work on extended hours rota between 08:00 and 18:30).

Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills – Essential
 * Basic computer skills, including use of an electronic patient record system.
 * Good written and oral communication skills.
Desirable
 * Understanding of national issues and relating them to own clinical practice.
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training – Essential
 * Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC (or student Occupational Therapist with qualification pending).
 * HCPC registration.
 * Active collection of relevant CPD in portfolio.
 * Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist.
 * Previous care experience.
 * Core Rotations as an Occupational Therapist in a range of core areas: Orthopaedics, Medical or Frailty Inpatients, Neurological Rehabilitation.
 * Experience working as part of multidisciplinary team.
Desirable (Qualifications)
 * Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapists or similar.
 * High level of clinical reasoning with excellent theoretical knowledge underpinning practice.
 * Demonstrate a good awareness of needs of patient and appropriate action to take.
 * Experience supervising junior, students, apprentices or non‑registered staff.
 * Student Educator Course.
