Base Pay Range: $16.50/hr - $20.00/hr
Job Responsibilities
* Assist pharmacists in all pharmacy operations, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and ensuring accurate dispensing.
* Maintain workflow by scheduling, inventory management, and adhering to the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Company policies.
* Report prescription errors immediately and comply with the Quality Improvement Program.
* Register sales, handle cash, and operate the pharmacy cash register.
* Assist customers in locating OTC products and provide an outstanding customer experience.
* Handle calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
* Process third‑party pharmacy claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
* Assist with inventory activities such as ordering, unpacking, storing, and maintaining asset protection.
* Support clinical services by collecting samples, labeling them, and coordinating with Walgreens clinics and external providers.
* Collaborate with the local medical community and external providers to develop relationships.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
* Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.
* Attend required training and complete continuing education credits.
Basic Qualifications
* PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
* One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
* Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
* Willingness to obtain an active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior work experience with Walgreens.
* Proficient in basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
* Basic PC skills, such as starting and shutting down a computer, using a mouse, clicking programs, printing documents, and accessing information online.
* Knowledge of store inventory control procedures.
