Criminal Solicitor - Dangerous Dog Offences
Location : Leeds City Centre
Salary : 35000 - 45000
Experience required : 2 Years PQE
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Criminal Solicitor to join a specialist Four Legs Law team focusing on dangerous dog offences and criminal defence matters.
Your key responsibilities will include :
* Dangerous Dogs Act Cases:
o Handling cases involving prohibited breeds
o Managing dogs dangerously out-of-control cases
o Providing expert legal representation for dog owners
o Navigating complex Dangerous Dogs Act legislation
o Developing strategic defence approaches
* Criminal Defence Representation:
o Representing clients at police stations
o Appearing in Magistrates Court proceedings
o Managing Crown Court cases
o Providing comprehensive criminal defence services
o Conducting thorough case preparation
* Case Management:
o Managing a varied caseload of criminal defence matters
o Conducting detailed legal research
o Preparing comprehensive case documentation
o Liaising with clients witnesses and court officials
o Ensuring compliance with legal procedures
* Client Advisory Services:
o Providing clear and strategic legal advice
o Managing client expectations
o Delivering customer-friendly service
o Supporting clients through complex legal challenges
o Maintaining high standards of client care
What Were Looking For
Essential Requirements :
* Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with :
o 2 years post-qualification experience in criminal law
o Strong criminal defence background
o Excellent advocacy skills
o Exceptional case management abilities
o Proficient IT skills
o Strong literacy and numeracy
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively
o Ability to work accurately in accordance with team requirements
o Excellent customer service skills
o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
o Strong prioritisation and time management skills
o Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Desirable
* Experience in Dangerous Dogs Act cases
* Strong interest in developing specialist dangerous dog work
* Knowledge of animal welfare legislation
* Experience in Magistrates and Crown Court advocacy
