About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Operative to join our Repairs and Maintenance team following a recent internal promotion. This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of practical ability, customer service, and teamwork. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks that help maintain our properties to a high standard.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Delivery and collection of materials
2. Notifiable non licenced asbestos removal
3. Working at heights assisting roofing works
4. Ensuring scaffold are safe and signing off for health and safety
5. Communicating with external and internal stakeholders daily
6. General support of ground works and maintenance
7. Support with each contract and their daily requirements, this could include working on our aids and adaptations contract, voids and R&M,planned works.
8. Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations for cleaning chemicals and PPE use.
9. Occasionally assist estate management in the local borough
10. Deliver excellent customer service across all tasks, maintaining a professional and customer-focused attitude
11. Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents, using clear verbal communication and good interpersonal skills
12. Make decisions and solve problems independently when needed, demonstrating confidence and initiative
13. Maintain high standards of safety, quality and cost control, with a methodical and dependable approach to work
Role Criteria:
14. Previous experience in repairs and maintenance role
15. Good written and verbal communication
16. Previous experience working with a PDA.
17. Provide own hand tools
18. Full UK Driving licence
