GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming school in Chesterfield. This is a great opportunity for future educators or those looking to gain hands-on school experience.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain focused and complete the work provided. Your main aim will be to create a positive and orderly learning atmosphere, supporting pupils' progress in the absence of their regular teacher.
Your Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise classroom activities and keep learners focused during the teacher’s absence.
* Present pre-set learning materials and help where required.
* Maintain discipline in accordance with school behaviour guidelines.
* Build constructive relationships with students and assist their learning progress.
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and any concerns.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
* Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
* Confidence, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to maintain order and promote positive behaviour.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps clearly explained.
