Job Title: Purchasing Administrator
Location: Redditch B98
Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm Mon-Thurs - Fri 7:30am - 1:30pm
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Purchasing Administrator to join a fast-paced, dynamic team within a well-established manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and organisational skills who has experience or an interest in purchasing and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative support to the purchasing team
2. Raise and progress purchase orders from requisitions for both office and shop floor needs
3. Support the warehouse team in resolving delivery issues
4. Liaise with the accounts department to address invoice queries
5. Compile reports on stock shortages, overdue orders, and spending levels
6. Identify production shortages using system-generated reports
7. Follow up directly with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries aligned with production schedules
8. Update delivery information on internal systems and escalate concerns to the Purchasing Manager and senior production team
9. Monitor and report on fluctuations in stock demand
10. Generate weekly and monthly supplier KPI reports for the Purchasing Manager
11. Communicate with key suppliers regarding delivery timelines, quality issues, and invoice discrepancies
12. Suggest improvements to purchasing processes and report them to the Buyers/Purchasing Manager
13. Flag any production-related issues to the relevant purchasing and production team members
Candidate Requirements:
14. Strong organisational and communication skills
15. Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
16. Good working knowledge of SAP (desirable but not essential)
17. Understanding of purchasing functions — prior experience in a purchasing or similar role is desirable
18. Familiarity with quality processes and procedures (desirable but not essential)
19. Ability to manage and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
