An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and committed individual to join the Community Safety Team. This post is hosted by the County Council but will work across both Derby and Derbyshire working through the Sexual Abuse sub-group of the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Partnership Board.
In the role of Sexual Abuse and Assault Strategy Officer, you will support and contribute to the work of the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Partnership Board and lead on the development of a Derbyshire wide (City and County) whole system sexual assault and abuse services strategy action plan that addresses the key priorities and covers the whole sexual assault and abuse pathway.
You will be joining a team of experienced community safety professionals working passionately to address crime and disorder in Derbyshire. You will have access to suite of training and have a line manager who is supportive and keen to facilitate your development.
Secondments will be considered.
What will I be doing:
1. Raising awareness of the Strategic Direction for Sexual Assault and Abuse Services (SAAS) and its local implications with key partner agencies.
2. Forging close positive working relationships, in order to support an effective matrix approach to achieve the objectives of projects identified in the strategy.
3. Ensuring progress against identified deliverables in the strategy.
4. Taking responsibility for making recommendations, providing advice and preparing strategic reports/briefings.
5. Analysing, interpreting and presenting data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making, drafting and presenting reports as required.
6. Providing specialist advice on sexual violence and abuse reflecting changes in legislation, regulations, policy and strategy developments and good practice in briefings as appropriate for Safer Derbyshire partners.

What skills and experience do you need to have:
7. Ability to achieve results through partnership working .
8. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail .
9. Experience of project management, with the ability to prioritise your own work effectively and collaborate with others achieve goals within set timescales .
10. Ability to analyse complex and often sensitive information, and present coherent reports to sometimes large and influential groups.
11. Experience of developing strategy, and to inform this, the ability to monitor and evaluate data, to interpret policy and identify and promote best practice.
12. Evidence a high degree of computer literacy and the ability to travel throughout the County and City as required, sometimes working outside core hours.
