Job Summary
This individual will be responsible for leading delivery of our current portfolio within the Grid & Energy Storage market, as well as developing and implementing a strategy for future diversification and growth. This is a strategic role within our business.
We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious individual with experience working on transmission grid infrastructure, distribution grid infrastructure, interconnectors, HVDC, grid stability, energy storage, solar, and green hydrogen projects.
We work with a number of high-profile developer and contractor clients including SSE, EDF, UK Power Networks, SPEN, Banks Renewables, Murphy, Jones Bros, Farrans, and I&H Brown.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Develops and maintains a sound understanding of the Grid & Energy Storage market, including key prospective clients, projects, programmes, and emerging technologies.
2. Develops and owns the market growth plan, including development of value propositions and partnerships to position Tony Gee strategically within the sector.
3. Works to reinforce existing and form new relationships with key clients to realize market growth plan targets.
4. Identifies, tracks, and maintains leads and enquiries, ensuring these are captured accurately in the market pipeline.
5. Works with the Power & Energy Director to lead business development and Tony Gee sector profile development, representing the business at key industry events.
6. Leads production of bid responses with support from technical and business development teams.
7. Responsible for overall performance of projects within the market at the portfolio level, working with Project Directors, Project Engineers, and Technical Leads to ensure project objectives are achieved.
8. Provides technical and project delivery leadership within the field of expertise.
9. Promotes a health, safety, and welfare culture.
10. Civil/structural design and delivery of National Grid infrastructure projects, including substations, overhead lines, HVDC, and interconnectors.
11. Civil/structural design and delivery of transmission and/or distribution network projects.
12. Experience in projects within the Grid & Energy Storage market such as substations, solar farms, interconnectors, battery storage schemes, green hydrogen schemes, gas peaking schemes, and grid stabilization schemes.
13. Multidisciplinary design, project, and commercial management of projects.
14. Strong communication and influencing skills.
15. Client focus.
16. TP141 certification.
Qualifications:
1. Civil/structural engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
2. Chartered Engineer or equivalent industry experience.
