There will be plenty of support to help you develop your leadership skills in order for you to be effective within the role. We are able to offer management and leadership courses to assist you in your development.

About Mental Health Services For Older People

This is a brilliant time to join MHSOP as we are currently undergoing significant service development. We are committed to working within the recovery model and dedicated to improving the well‑being of service users and their carers. We have invested in specialist staff and training to ensure our staff are fully supported within their roles. We are very keen to assist staff to develop their use of psycho‑social interventions, allowing them to meet the needs of our service users and carers. We are an integrated team and work very closely with our local authority partners. The integrated team is based in Llanfair Unit on the University of Llandough Hospital site. We are a supportive, experienced and highly motivated multidisciplinary team.

About The Role Of Lead CPN

The Lead CPN will be managerially and professionally responsible for the community mental health nurses based within Cardiff and the Vale localities. They will work alongside the Clinical Lead Nurse who is responsible for the development and training of staff. You will work closely with the two lead social workers for each locality as part of the integrated team, and will be supported within your role by the Senior Nurse and Integrated Manager. You will ensure a high standard of care and treatment is delivered for service users in line with the Mental Health Measure (2010). This will be facilitated by regular supportive supervision of staff. You will work with other members of the team and other agencies to best meet the health and social needs of the service users, and will also play a key role in the development of services as per the goals of the MHSOP directorate.

Benefits Available To You

* Regular supervision from Senior Nurse and support from the Integrated Manager.
* Development and training opportunities available via UHB, Local Authority and Cardiff University.
* Opportunities for management and leadership courses.
* A commitment to support you in your own personal development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
