Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor)
Location: Sites across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Cambridge, East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust

Interview dates: 25 June 2026 and 29 June 2026. Secondment will be considered.
Contract: Fixed term, 12 months, full‑time, 52‑week programme.
Annual salary: £32,073 to £39,043 (pro‑rata).
Key Responsibilities
* Attend all educational sessions and submit assignments promptly to meet university requirements.
* Maintain close liaison with the Practice Assessor and agree a clinical learning programme.
* Develop and integrate knowledge of theory and practice.
* Understand wider determinants of health and address health inequalities.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual/family care programmes under supervision.
* Keep accurate records in line with Trust policy and NMC standards.
* Deliver the Healthy Child Programme and work with the wider skill‑mix team.
* Safeguard children and young people, respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
* Establish relationships with families and multidisciplinary teams.
* Report absences and sickness promptly.
* Arrange and attend clinical supervision with Practice Assessor & Practice Lead.
* Maintain professional development and adhere to NMC Code and Trust values.
* Adhere to data protection, confidentiality, infection control and risk management policies.
* Participate in clinical and safeguarding audits, emergency preparedness and other training.
Qualifications & Training
* Registered Nurse or Midwife, current NMC registration.
* Practice Assessor qualification or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience working with children, young people and families to provide holistic, evidence‑based care.
* Teamworking and partnership with other agencies.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and local policies for the Healthy Child Programme.
* Ability to work independently.
Knowledge & Skills
* Understanding of health and safety requirements and risk assessment.
* Ability to promote best practice.
* Prioritisation and organisational skills balancing clinical and academic commitments.
* Good verbal, written and IT communication skills.
* Awareness of safeguarding, legislation and current events influencing practice.
