Vision for Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist residential education setting for children and young people with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and resilient Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting students both in their learning environment and within a nurturing residential setting.
Due to the rural location, all applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ day-to-day lives, helping them to develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills in a safe and structured environment.
This is a 40-hour role worked over 3 longer shifts per week, including evenings and participation in a 1-in-3 weekend rota.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality care and emotional support to students in a residential setting
2. Support students with daily routines such as morning preparation, mealtimes, and bedtime
3. Encourage independence, social development, and positive behaviour
4. Assist with educational engagement and reinforce learning outside the classroom
5. Plan and participate in recreational and social activities
6. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans and progress reports
7. Build strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a positive role model
8. Work collaboratively with education and care teams to ensure holistic support

9. A caring, patient, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people
10. Previous experience in care, education, or support work is desirable but not essential
11. Ability to work flexibly across long shifts, including evenings and weekends
12. Strong communication and teamwork skills
13. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to rural location)

Salary
£450 to £550 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
18. Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
