As adomiciliary audiologist you can help the most vulnerable patientswith their hearing in the comfort of their homes. You will play acrucial role in providing audiological testing services to patientsin the comfort of their homes instore (certain locations) as wellas supporting theNHS.
Youwill be trusted to make autonomous decisions and valued for yourprofessional expertise. You'll have full support fromcentral teams including logistical and clinicalsupport.
Youwill be responsiblefor:
* Evaluatingand diagnosing hearing loss and relateddisorders.
* Conductinghearing tests and recommending suitable hearing aiddevices.
* Providingcounselling and support to patients with hearingimpairments.
* Fittinghearing aids and making necessary adjustments for personalizedcomfort.
* Conductingfollowup appointments to monitor the effectiveness of hearingaids.
* Providingmaintenance and repair services for hearingaids.
* Collaboratingwith other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patientcare.
* Keepingaccurate records of patient assessments treatments andprogress.
* Tomanage a daily schedule of adults with hearingloss.
* PureTone Audiometry including masking asrequired.
* Testsfor nonorganic hearingloss.
* Testingfor Noise Induced HearingLoss.
* Takingaural impressions and selection of appropriate earmoulds.
* Selectionand programming/fitting of appropriate hearinginstruments.
* Provisionof a full structured patient centric aftercare programme to ensuremaximumsatisfaction.
* Provideappropriate support for individuals with hearingloss.
* Touse appropriate outcome measures both subjective and objective toensure hearing instruments are providing maximum benefit and useevidencebased practice to supportthis.
* Useof Real Ear Measurement equipment to validate and verify hearinginstrumentfittings.
* Tocommit to lifelong learning to ensure that you keep up to date withthe latest developments inAudiology.
* Tobe responsible for daily maintenance of test equipment and arrangecalibration as and whenrequired.
* Toprovide ear care and wax removal where required (appropriatetraining will beprovided).
* Tofollow best practice principles with regard to infection control intheworkplace.
Youwill need:
* Tomeet the appropriate level of expertise to register with the HCPCas a Hearing Aid Dispenser (appropriate training will be providedasneeded).
* Todemonstrate the ability to reflect on own practice with peers andmanagement and to identify own strengths and developmentneeds.
* Tobe responsible for own professional actions and to recognise ownprofessional boundaries and when to seek advice fromothers.
* Tocontribute as part of a clinical team and be willing to discussclient needs withothers.
* Toattend appropriate supervision and training to maintain skills andknowledge and to expand Scope of Practice whilst ensuringcompliance with HCPC CPDrequirements.
* Tobe responsible for maintain own CPD records in a form acceptable totheHCPC.
* Tounderstand the principles of clinical governance and itsapplication to professional practice inAudiology.
* Responsiblefor ensuring staff are aware and comply with all Infection ControlPolicies andProcedures.
