Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing Equipment and Facilities Acquisitions
Rolls-Royce is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Regeneration Team in Derby, supporting and delivering new capital equipment projects. This role involves managing multiple projects, including machining, factory design, and layout support, within a highly regulated industry where safety and environmental considerations are paramount.
You will utilize your manufacturing engineering expertise and lean toolkit to handle all project elements, including working with equipment manufacturers, specifying machines, commissioning, and conducting SAT and FAT testing. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, you will support efficient plant layouts and contribute to ongoing improvements across projects and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage Capital Equipment and Facilities Projects from inception to completion.
2. Derive system and equipment requirements and produce technical specifications.
3. Contribute to safety assessments and justify system choices.
4. Develop, implement, validate, and improve capabilities of capital equipment and tooling.
5. Plan and manage project activities, including risk assessment, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
6. Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
7. Identify improvement opportunities using Six Sigma or Lean/CI methodologies.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in manufacturing equipment acquisition, especially in regulated industries.
* Project engineering experience managing capital plant budgets, specifications, installation, and commissioning.
* Plant layout and facilities integration experience.
* Qualified engineer (HNC/HND/foundation degree or equivalent).
* Lean manufacturing experience.
* MS Project proficiency.
