Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks. This position is perfect for someone looking to develop their skills in accounting while contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial processes.

Duties

Day to Day Tasks include

* Assist / Manage raising clients sales invoicing from information given by the sales team, detail and accuracy is essential.
* Experience in Credit Control is essential, i.e. sending statements, chasing debt, resolve any invoice disputes, update accounts payable listing to enable Finance Manager to forecast cash flow.
* Reviewing the sales database to make sure despatched orders delivered have been invoiced out and explore any anomalies.
* Purchasing raw materials for manufacturing sites, ensuring correct delivery location and times, getting the best price were possible.
* Matching supplier purchase ledger invoices to orders placed. Ensuring items have been received in good condition, quantity and cost is correct. Raising any disputes with the supplier.
* Reconcile employee expenses.
* Assisting with Fire Marshal / First Aider duties – Responsible for carrying out Fire Test / Drills.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

* Advanced on Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Knowledge or using SAP or similar databases. Sage 50 is essential.
* Good understanding of Accounts/Finance – P&L processes
* Numerate and a good eye for detail is fundamental.
* Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
* Organised approach and ability to handle conflicting priorities.
* Trustworthy with a friendly proactive manner.
* Must have a can-do attitude and take responsibility for given areas.
* 2-3 years' experience of working in an accounting environment, preferably with experience of using Sage Accounts.
