Manpower Recruitment have partnered with a multi-trade business in the Abingdon (Oxfordshire) area and are looking for qualified gardeners.
The role is full time, a permanent role and paying £25,396pa, working Monday-Friday and Saturdays are optional. Starting at 8am (can start earlier if needed)
Candidate must have the following
1. Be over 25 years old, due to company insurance.
2. Hold a UK valid driving license and comfortable with driving a work van.
3. Be comfortable to be put through a DBS check
4. Hold a PA1 & PA6 certificates (Desirable)
The job description:
The job requires the employee to be able to handle and confidently use petrol engine power tools like lawnmowers, hedge cutters, strimmer's and to be able to identify and know how to care for shrubs, bushes, flowers and grass that are on each site.
Planting is done in the autumn and winter months specifically trees and small shrubs so the employee must be prepared to take on this task as well. Of course, with additional support from a colleague if it's a large job.
My client requires the employee to attend anywhere from 1-5 sites a day depending on size and location. The employee must be able to drive and be able to confidently locate the sites with address provided. The employee must also be able to confidently read the detailed site maps to identify what is our responsibility on site and what is private.
When the employee arrives on site, they must perform general tasks like grass cutting, hedge cutting and weeding. And if they hold a vaild PA1 & PA6 to spray all areas that is required, then occasionally change the bin on site if that is on the specification.
When the work is completed on site the employee must photograph the completed work and at the end of the day send a report to a manger with the site name via WhatsApp. This is to be uploaded by a manager on our client system for payment.
The employee must be willing to understand the rules and regulations in place with communication with the client on site. Meaning that any requests made by the client when they approach the gardener on site must first be approved by a manager before they do anything other than the ordinary maintenance work. This is to avoid conflict and confusion with the client as some work is charged extra and cannot be authorised by the gardeners in any circumstances.
Holiday is the standard 20 days + 8 bank holidays. Holiday must be booked minimum 2 weeks in advance, or it will not be accepted.
