Hays are working in partnership with a well‑respected engineering consultancy in Omagh to recruit a Graduate Electrical Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long‑established practice, gaining exposure to a wide range ofmercial, education, healthcare and public‑sector projects.
Your new role
You’ll join a supportive team of experienced engineers who will help you build confidence, develop technical capability, and progress through the early stages of your career. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands‑on project exposure, genuine mentorship, and long‑term development within a professional building services environment.
1. Assisting in the design of electrical building services systems including lighting, small power, LV distribution, containment, fire alarms and emergency lighting.
2. Supporting senior engineers with calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
3. Using industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and lighting design tools (full training provided).
4. Attending internal and external project meetings, contributing to design coordination.
5. Undertaking site visits and surveys with senior staff.
6. Ensuring all design work aligns with current regulations, standards and best practices.
7. Developing understanding of sustainable and low‑energy design principles.
What you'll need to succeed
8. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a closely related field.
9. Ideally, you will havepleted a relevant placement year within engineering, construction, or building services, but strong graduates without placement experience will still be considered.
10. Strongmunication skills and a proactive approach to learning.
11. Good problem‑solving capability and ability to work as part of a project team.
12. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux is helpful, but not essential.
13. Genuine interest in electrical building services and future progression toward IEng/CEng.
14. Full UK/Irish Driving Licence
