Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who will be responsible for the leadership, good management, and strategic direction of the school, conducting its affairs to benefit pupils and the community. The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and organization.
Holding the Standard for Headship became a prerequisite for teachers taking their first permanent headteacher post at Local Authority and grant-aided schools in Scotland from 1 August 2020, under Section 28 of the Education (Scotland) Act 2016.
There are two exemptions: one applies to any permanent headteacher appointed before or on 1 August 2020; the other allows appointment of a headteacher without the Standard for Headship on a temporary basis not exceeding 23 months after 1 August 2020.
