About The Role
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Starting from September 2024, the School will deliver a double LLB degree in collaboration with Dalian Maritime University (DMU). This programme allows students to study our LLB degree in China alongside the Law BA degree offered by DMU. We seek to appoint a Tutor to deliver core legal modules essential in the early years of this double degree programme, while providing administrative support to the Programme Director. The successful candidate will primarily teach and perform administrative duties in China, and also assist in the administration of the programme in Swansea.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
The University is committed to promoting equality and diversity in all its practices. We aim to foster an inclusive environment and welcome applications from candidates of all protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin), religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation.
As an inclusive employer, we value skills over background. Applications in Welsh are welcomed and will be treated equally to those in English.
Welsh Language Skills
The role requires Level 1 Welsh language skills — the ability to pronounce Welsh words, answer phone calls in Welsh (e.g., "Good morning/afternoon"), and use basic phrases (e.g., "thank you," "please"). Level 1 can be achieved through a short one-hour course.
The University promotes bilingualism through its Welsh Language Strategy, encouraging staff to engage with Welsh as an additional skill and cultural opportunity. Applications are accepted in Welsh and will be treated equally. Welsh speakers may be interviewed in Welsh, especially if Welsh skills are essential for the role.
Additional Information
Applicants should submit an online application demonstrating how they meet the essential criteria outlined in the recruitment documentation. Attachments should include:
* A Curriculum Vitae
* A statement outlining your teaching approach and your plan to support the delivery of the TNE programme with DMU.
