Job Description:
This role is based at a mainstream secondary school in Hillingdon. The working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 3:45 pm.
Objective: To contribute to enhancing academic success by fostering improved school attendance and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize school systems for attendance support, intervention, safeguarding, and well-being, providing information, advice, and guidance to promote consistent and punctual attendance for all students.
2. Address instances of poor punctuality by contacting parents or arranging meetings with parents/carers for persistent offenders.
3. Assist the Attendance Officer in accurately completing attendance registers and resolving discrepancies.
4. Collaborate with the Deputy Headteacher to mentor a designated group of students, reporting on their progress and contributing to their personal growth related to attendance.
5. Support Heads of Year (HoYs) in addressing attendance challenges and developing strategies to improve attendance, including conducting pupil mentoring meetings.
6. Communicate with parents/carers and external agencies regarding attendance issues, including conducting home visits as directed.
7. Share responsibility for raising attendance awareness among staff, students, and parents, and contribute to initiatives such as rewards, certificates, and house points.
8. Maintain accurate records of consultations and prepare reports as needed.

Pay rates are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanence later.
