Wood is currently recruiting for a Reliability Engineer assigned to the Operated Assets function for a 12 month fixed-term duration. The Reliability Engineer will be based with our client's Aberdeen City Centre office, on a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in office and 2 remotely.

Operated Assets sits with Wood’s Operations EMEA business and is based in Aberdeen. We build long term strategic relationships with clients across each of our 4 sub-service lines: Decommissioning, Operations & Maintenance, Duty Holder and Optimised Energy. We project manage decommissioning scopes and provide skilled people offshore to help our clients get the best out their assets and keep them ahead. We introduce the latest digital and decarb tools Wood has to offer making sure we are continuously driving value for clients and keep making them smarter and faster.

Key Responsibilities
* Asset Reliability & Performance
o Analyse asset performance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities
o Develop and maintain asset reliability models, including criticality assessments and failure mode analysis
o Implement reliability centred maintenance (RCM), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and condition monitoring strategies
* Maintenance Strategy Development
o Optimise preventive and predictive maintenance plans to ensure efficient asset care
o Recommend maintenance task changes based on reliability insights and operational performance
o Support digitalisation of maintenance data, KPIs, and dashboards
* Equipment Failure Investigation
o Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and integrity issues
o Develop corrective and preventive actions, tracking implementation and effectiveness
* Surveillance & Ownership
o Support Pro Active Technical Monitoring and Exception Based Surveillance
o Conduct reviews of content and implementation of Technical Monitoring Plans (TMP’s)
o Support and provide guidance on frontline surveillance and equipment ownership
* Reliability Tools & Methods
o Skill at Apply techniques such as:
+ Condition monitoring (vibration, thermography, lubrication analysis)
+ Reliability statistics and modelling
o Knowledge of techniques such as:
+ Reliability growth and RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) modelling
+ Weibull analysis
* Continuous Improvement & Standards
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and optimise cost of ownership
o Ensure compliance with asset integrity standards, engineering procedures, and safety regulations
o Support engineering design reviews to incorporate reliability into new projects and modifications
* Cross Functional Support
o Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE teams to ensure safe and reliable performance
o Provide technical guidance to maintenance engineers, technicians, and plannersParticipate in shutdown/turnaround planning and risk assessments
Essential
* Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability, or related)
* Knowledge of reliability engineering principles (RCM, FMEA, RCA, reliability modelling)
* Strong analytical skills with experience in CMMS/EAM systems (e.g. SAP)
* Ability to interpret maintenance and asset performance data
Desirable
* Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, or heavy industry.
* Offshore Certification such as BOSIET.
* Certification such as CMRP, CRE, or equivalent.
* Site experience in the introduction and development of reliability processes and procedures.
* Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques.
* Root Cause Analysis Certification.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
