About the Role
We are looking to expand our dynamic and motivated Ultrasound team and are inviting hard working and enthusiastic candidates to apply for a training post with us at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The multidisciplinary ultrasound team at Swansea has an outstanding reputation for the services provided, where the Sonographer team undertakes a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations that includes Abdominal, Gynaecological, Obstetric, Vascular, MSK and sonographer-led acute imaging. The post would suit hard working team members who are interested in training and developing to become a Sonographer. The successful candidate will study for a qualification in Medical Ultrasound (PgC, PgD). This post is advertised as a training post under Annex 21 and training will be carried out across all 3 SBU sites. Once qualified there is a requirement to work across all 3 sites.

Qualifications and Requirements
* A good honours degree (normally minimum 2.2) in a Healthcare or Science related subject.
* Access to an appropriate clinical work placement in the UK of at least two days (15 hours) a week in each clinical specialty to fulfil the practical requirements of this course.
* An appropriately qualified individual who will act as clinical appraiser (supervisor and assessor) who will need to attend a training day.

Location and Working Arrangements
This post will be based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, which hosts the Minor Injury Unit and will become the Health Board's centre of excellence for elective orthopedic and spinal surgery. The radiology teams across all our hospital sites are welcoming to new staff; you may be able to participate in social activities and opportunities outside the work environment.
